Yoga by the Sea

International Yoga Day,
21 June,
 2022
Doha, Qatar

We are practicing with our community where we live in a compound in Al Dafna and will deliver a complementary class for the  employees at The Ritz-Carlton Sharq Village, Doha

Yoga can be an important instrument in the collective quest of humanity for promoting sustainable lifestyle in harmony with planet Earth. In keeping with this spirit, the theme for this year’s Yoga Day celebrations is “Yoga for Humanity.”

The essence of yoga is balance - not just balance within the body or that between the mind and the body, but also balance in the human relationship with the world. Yoga emphasizes the values of mindfulness, moderation, discipline and perseverance. When applied to communities and societies, Yoga offers a path for sustainable living.

We are launching Daoshi program of building possibilities from struggles where individuals can receive health and wellbeing coaching to reset their lives and build prosperity for the families and society.

Starting collaboration with exceptional individuals as Delila Klovo Kajić, lawyer and mother of four who has worked at the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the City Council of Sarajevo, the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council and stepped into a private sector after her political career was over when she resigned from a ministerial position.

The resignation price was high and some might call it „a career hole“ but now she calls it „a valuable experience I have professionally survived“. Ms. Klovo Kajić was back at work when a big international company needed a person of ethics and integrity for a new business role. Now she is leading her own business and is very active in supporting the community through igniting activism and building prosperity with CeDAP Center for Society's Activism and Prosperity.

Our products are in three categories:

- Artisan Asian Gardens (families in their gardens develop plants messengers for health and wellbeing and they come with a story on how gardening helps us deal with stress, but also how our body and mind wellbeing is equally important). Proceeds from sales of 3 plants cover for a health and wellbeing  session for one individual to start the program.

- Culture and Wellbeing (artisans create the conversation starters so anyone can initiate a discussion on how for example pets are helpful for wellbeing (when you gift it as a cushion for pet) or how yoga is helpful when you commit to practice). Proceeds from sales of one cushion support an individual to receive one month subscription to a health and wellbeing or career path conversations for personal development.

- UNESCO Heritage Kaneo (small family business creates reclaimed wood products that help the environment protection and connect UNESCO Heritage sites exchange best practices and opens available internships for short therm visitors). Proceeds from every wooden craft support the fund for hosting of an intern at a UNESCO Heritage site.

Past events

Our journey over the last couple of years has been closely linked with our founding company Boston Sustainability Advising, particularly to embrace the challenges and transforming struggles in possibilities toward actions for achieving the sustainable development goals. Delivering seemingly undeliverable. It is what we are doing today during the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW66) in March 2022 supporting women owned business of artisans, artists and handcraft creators including gardeners to raise funds for strengthening families and empowering the society starting with The Balkan, through the Middle East to South Asia and The Americas.

As a community constantly encouraging positive change, we modestly stepped in during this globally difficult time brought on by the COVID19 pandemic. We are hopeful to provide support and develop opportunities for a wide range of people with our latest initiative: The Global Health Mentoring program.

Through this work, we support sustainable health equity through concrete action to develop the future thinkers and contributors to solutions in global health.

This initiative launched in spring of 2021 on the World Health Day, 7th of April, with activation of the program at www.ghmentor.org

Look for the Global Health Mentoring storytelling series following up throughout the coming year from China through the Middle East and Europe to the Americas.

In 2019 we launched Mentorship4SDGas SDG advocate for the youth, businesses and academia to inspire together with influential people raising global awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the need for accelerated action.

We use the unique global platforms to raise ambition around the SDGs and reach the most vulnerable first. Mentorship4SDGs started in Zhejiang province in PR in China and is aspiring to partner with SDG Advocates as Jack Ma and Sheikha Mozah, who are strong public figures dedicated to peace, prosperity and the planet, rallying behind the vision of a better world and inspiring others to do the same.
